It's been one year since I last updated this blog.
The purpose of this entry is for the Australia travel logs.
Western Australia, Perth
24 Nov-1 Dec
24 Nov, Wednesday
-Packed my luggage and arrived at Budget Terminal around 1400.
-Plane took off at around 1540
-Reached Perth at around 2040
-Shawn picked me and Gavin up.
-Reached Shawn's house 30 mins later.( Canning Vale )
-Night still early so decided to head to Burswood for casino with Shawn's Dad (Uncle Simon).
-Stayed at casino for around 2 hours. Played Texas Poker. Won 60 AUD.
-Ate late night supper with Uncle.
-Headed back to Shawn's house roughly 3am.
-Good Night
25 Nov, Thursday
-Woke up around 10am.
-Met Shawn's cousin, Audrey. From the chat, we knew that she is a vegan ( diet excludes all animal products, such as dairy products, eggs, and honey)
-Planned itinerary
-Had Pies for lunch (Microwaved Pies)
-Headed to Murdoch University for a visit. Plainly walked around the campus and met up with some of Gavin's friends (Su Ying/Jennifer).
-Decided to head to Caroulsel for dinner and did some shopping with the others.
-Bought a super HUGE chocolate and a box of chocolate nuts.
-Bought some chicken pies for supper and drove to Shawn's friend, Warren house for some catch-up/party.
-Wanted to buy some beers but instead we bought Mother (something like Red Bull)
-Drove to Victoria Park for more suppers. Ate Fish & Chips.
-Good Night.
26 Nov, Friday (Shawn's Bday)
-Woke up late
-Skipped Breakfast
-Drove to YUKI (Japanese restaurant) at Collins Road for lunch. Ate beef teriyaki bento. Tried the grass jelly drink. Thought it would be something unique but instead the drink can is exactly the same as Singapore.
-Headed to Warren's house to park Shawn's Mercedes because parking at the city is too expensive.
-Took a bus to the city.Saw a cute little Asian chick but turned out she got fat legs. A couple of Australian chicks boarded the bus and they blasted the music real loud. Realised one of them is drunk.
-Reached the city outskirts. Weather is REAL HOT.
-Shopped at the some random streets. Gavin wanted to buy almost everything but he complained of no money.
-Bought a wallet, belt, shirt, short, bottle and some souvenirs.
-Saw a busker performing some tricks. Apparently, he juggled 3 balls but claimed that he juggled 5 instead (plus two of his own balls).
-Headed to Valentino Cafe for birthday dinner with Shawn's family (Uncle Simon, Aunt Angie, Shawn's sisters, Mercedes and Madison). Ate Seafood Spaghetti for dinner.
-Hopped a ride back to Warren's house. Had to squeeze 6 people in a car.
-Arrived at Warren's house and drove back to the city for some clubbing.
-Headed to The Court (Gay and Lesbian's Club). Stayed there for an hour plus. Drank Heineken and Vodka Lime. Shawn and Gavin claimed that they saw some girls trying to dance with me but I stood there like a rock. (Can't blame me cuz i never see them)
-Club closed quite early (1am). Walked to another club, RISE. Dun really like the trans music there. Exit the club like 15 mins later. Shawn and Gavin had something secretive which they did not share.
-While on the way of driving back home, Shawn's friend, Joe Han called for a quick catch-up with Shawn. Drove to some random restaurant and chat for a bit.
-Left afterwards for home.
-Good Night
27th Nov, Saturday
-Woke up late
-Skipped Breakfast. Drove to Nando (owned by Uncle Simon) with Shawn's friend, Brandon. Had chicken steak and tenderloins for lunch. Uncle Simon cooked the tenderloins and they are awesome.
-Brandon suggested cliff-jumping. In the end, we didn't go.
-Picked Madison and Shawn's Cousin, Aaron from school and fetched them back home.
-Tried to drive at some random carpark under the supervision of Shawn and Gavin. Speed should be ranging from 10km/hr to 20km/hr. It's a mercedes afterall.
-Headed to Mundaring for pizza. The shop, Little Caesars sold really fantastic pizzas. Desert pizza that we had is one of the best food i ate at Australia. The combination of the thick sweet chocolate crust plus the ice-cream icing on the pizza itself is heaven-made. I dun't think Singapore has one. ( http://www.littlecaesars.com/) Maybe can try to invest on opening one in Singapore in the near future,(
-Decided to buy Uncle Simon a carton of Corona beer because of the numerous dinner/lunch treat he gave.
-Drove back home.
-Went Burswood for more Caribbean Poker. Won 110 AUD.
-Headed back home
-Good night 28 Nov, Sunday-Supposed to wake up early but instead woke up late-Headed to Freo (Fremantle) with Shawn's cousin, Audrey and his sister, Madison. -Decided to head to Farmer's Market first for some breakfast-Ate some Salvadorian food and ice-coffee for breakfast. Sat down on the grass patch and enjoyed the breeze. Went around and shopped for some groceries. Audrey bought some plants for gardening And Madison had her face painted with a picture of bunny.-Headed down to Freo. Walked to the Fremantle Market for some shopping. Bought tons of souvenirs such as solar-powered key chains (Liverpool logo and Ferrari logo), boomerang, Kangaroo soft toy and nougats.-Grabbed some strawberries. (4 boxes for 5 AUD)-Walked to the museum across the grass patch. Weather is really good. -Visited the "shipwrecked" museum (kinda forget the name of the museum). Entry by donation. Instead of looking at the artifacts, five of us just sit down on the chairs, relaxing after a long walk at the market. Nearly fell asleep.-After resting, headed for more shopping. Played some arcade games.-Shawn's parents came afterwards and joined in. Bought some organic product from a shop (honey plus some free biscuits). Shawn kinda 'emo' a bit because i think Gavin gossiped some of Shawn's stuff in front of Audrey. Not really sure cuz they refused to tell me what.-Brewery was the next stop. Ordered "White Rabbit". Kinda like the beer. Chit-chat for a while before walking to a fish-and-chip restaurant for dinner.-Shawn's friends (Eric, Andrew and Richard) joined us for dinner. Mercede's friend, Nicole tagged along. We ate mussels, fish and chips, scallops, french fries and wedges. Once again, Shawn's parent footed the bit. Kinda bad for letting them treat us again. Audrey ate only salads since she is a vegan and obviously she could only eat veggie.-Headed for Chocolateria San Churro shop. Ordered churro but had a hard time finishing it because the dinner really made us very full. Surprisingly, the ladies' stomach still had the capacity to contain those churros. -Headed back to Shawn's house. Felt kinda regretted not taking a group photo just now during the dinner/desert.-Decided to head for casino since the night still young. Shawn's friends tagged along.-Lost about 200 AUD. Stopped and played Truth Or Dare with Shawn's friends.-Been asked to create a Truth question for a gal (I think her name is Qing Yan) to answer. Decided to be nice by asking her age. -Watched soccer at the same time (Liverpool VS Tottenham). First half-Liverpool played like champions. Should have gotten more goals before half-time.-Headed back to Shawn's place before the match ended. -Realised that Uncle Simon is a liverpool fan too. In the end, Liverpool lost 2-1. Sack Roy Hodgson please.-Good Night29 Nov, Monday-Woke up like damn early (7.45am to be exact) for Lancelin. Struggled to get off bed.-Showered and drove to buy coffee. Gavin drove Shawn's Mercedes and while turning a corner, he spilled the coffee at the front seat. Had a hard time trying to clear up the mess. Coffee scent was hard to get rid of.-Drove about 1 1/2 hour to reach Lancelin. (Gavin/Shawn took turn to drive)-Ate fish burger for lunch and hired sand board for surfing. Scenery damn good. Watched a couple of people trying to unload their yacht to the sea. Wish we could hire one.-Sand board. Had difficulty at gliding down. Sat down on top of the 'sand mountain' and admired the sea view from up there. Tiring to keep running up to the peak.-Headed back to return the sand board and drove to search for more attractions/sceneries. Unfortunately, we couldn't find the location we wanted to go. Gave up so drove back to Livingston.-On the way back, washed up the car and vacuumed the car carpets. Cleared up the sand that got into our clothing.-Drove back Shawn's place for a quick shower. -Drove to Outback Jack for dinner. Ordered Aus beef skewer. Kinda regretted because it did not taste as good as i expected. There's a 30 mins challenge which the challenger had to finish a 1kg steak plus sides. If the challenge is completed, a shirt will be presented and the steak will be half-priced.-Returned to Shawn's place. Played Wii for a while. But fell asleep once Wii was installed at Shawn's room.-Good night30 Nov, Tuesday-Woke up at around 7.56am but the rest were not awake yet. Decided to sleep for a while more. -Slacked and played Wii (Super Mario Kart)-Drove down for lunch. Steak once again. This time, i found the steak better than last night. Free-flow of drinks+salads+fruit+desert. Awesome. -Did some last min shopping at a nearby shopping centre. Bought more chocolate and a thumb drive. Drove around to search for shops that sold Jerky.-Headed back to Shawn's place to pack luggage. Had a hard time trying to squeeze stuff. Reason being the huge chocolate we bought on last Thursday. Definitely couldn't fit the luggage. Couldn't hand-carry because we only limit to carry one hand-carry bag. Decided to check-in as fragile good.-Aunt Angie cooked the LAST DINNER for us. Ate with Shawn's family members. Chinese food.-Time to head for the airport. Uncle Simon drove us to the airport while Shawn's sisters and mum tagged along by driving another car.-Wanted to take a photo with his family but due to some reasons, the photos were not taken. Kinda regretted. Shawn's family bid goodbye to him.-Bought JIM BEAM whiskey (200ml)-Plane took off around 2135-Arrived Singapore around 2.20am. Really uncomfortable in the plane.-Took a cab back home after buying some sandwiches.-HOME SWEET HOME (and back to army)Reflections-Australians are really friendly. They are really polite and asked like, "How are you, mate?", "Good day, mate!" It is really different, compared to Singaporean.-Regret not taking more photos of people. Gavin always takes photos of buildings/infrastructure. I feel that they are useless since you don't need to travel all the way to Aus just to take those photos; you can just download it. Photos of people are more worth it.-Kinda love the slow-pace lifestyle of Perth. It is like time just pass slower in Perth.-Shops closed at around 1730. That shows how slack the Australians(just kidding)-Disappointed of missing the couch surfing meet-up at Brass Monkey on 24 Nov since it started at around 1730 but our plane landed at Aus around 2030.Verdict-Will definitely like to visit Perth one more time. Maybe worked there. Maybe even stayed there after retirement.Expenses-750 SGD Dollar (left 10 AUD) for Expenses-420 SGD Dollar for Air Ticket-Total of 1170 SGD spent-Well-spent Photos
Desert at Freo
